Do you know… Abed Nadir?
Being the pop culture aficionado that he is, Abed Nadir (played by Danny Pudi) is going to school to make movies (originally he was going to college for business so he could run his father’s falafel business). Seeing the world with TV screen glasses, Abed understands norms and mores through movies and television. One of his main motivations to be part of the study group was so his life could be like The Breakfast Club.
Abed is part-Palestinian (father) and part-Polish (mother). When he was younger, Abed’s parents divorced. Abed assumed that he put a strain on the relationship because he was neurally atypical. This caused a distant relationship with his father who he thinks blames him.
Being in the study group, Abed became best friends with Troy Barnes, former high school jock. They share similar interest like making blanket forts and watching Kickpuncher.
